This policy explains what information Finality Editorial ("we", "us") collects when you use finality.in and our mobile apps, and how we use it. We process personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
1. Information we collect
- Account data — email address, display name, and Firebase Authentication user ID when you sign in.
- Billing data — payment metadata returned by Razorpay (order ID, payment ID, amount, status). We do not store card numbers or UPI IDs.
- Reading data — bookmarks and reading history that you save while signed in.
- Operational logs — IP address, user-agent, and request timestamps, retained up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention.
2. Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for (account, premium).
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To improve our editorial product (aggregate analytics only).
- To comply with applicable law and lawful requests.
3. Sharing
We share data only with sub-processors strictly necessary to operate the service:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting).
- Cloudflare (edge delivery and DDoS protection).
- Razorpay (payment processing).
We do not sell your data and do not run third-party ad networks.
4. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your account at any time from the account page. Account deletion is irreversible and removes your bookmarks and payment metadata after a 90-day audit window (Razorpay requires retention for tax purposes).
5. Cookies
We use a single session cookie for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add aggregate analytics, it will be a privacy-respecting solution (e.g. Plausible) with no individual tracking.
